Sunday 6 April 2014 – Press Note: Team Tennis Zone under Coach Akis Asproftas won three titles.
Christos Kyrillou won the under 16 singles event by defeating Christos Fakontis 6-7, 6-2, 7-6 on Sunday afternoon.
Edmond Aynedjian won the under 18 singles title topping Tasos Rousos 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Tennis Zone’s third title came in the under 18 doubles championship where George Christodoulou and Edmond Aynedjian defeated Andreas Erotokritou and Andreas Alekou Stylianou, 7-6, 6-7, 10-1.
Wednesday 17 December 2013 – Press Note: Tennis Zone’s Edmond Aynedjian won the Boys under 16 Cyprus Masters Cup, by defeating Efrem Stylianou 6-1, 6-2. Images of the Finals here.
In the quarter finals he defeated teammate and doubles partner seed 3 Christos Kyrillou 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 and in the semi- finals he overcame seed 1 Demetris Kokis 6-4, 7-5 in a fine exhibition of power tennis by both players.
ABOUT THE TENNIS ZONE ELITE TEAM
The Tennis Zone offers one of the best junior development programs in the country. Led by Akis Asproftas, who has coached numerous national and professional players, our program outlines the road to success for top athletes.
From the beginning stages in our program until our players mature into top college players, we teach strong fundamentals, sound technique and advanced strategies that enable our juniors to succeed at every level.
The Tennis Zone’s Elite Team program is ideal for intermediate and advanced players between the ages of 8 to 18.
This is an afternoon and Saturday morning program held throughout the year. It combines instruction with match play in daily 3-hour sessions. Players are grouped by skill level and age.
For the third year running, we have started accepting applications for our summer tennis camp for our future champions between the ages of 8 – 16. This is a fast-track specialized course for our young players aspiring to excel on the local and international circuit.
This year, classes will run from Monday 30 June – Friday 25 July 2014.
